The castles of Bellinzona, the Tibetan Bridge, the lakeside city of Lugano and the village of Morcote, in one private day in Ticino, the south of Switzerland.
From Zurich or Lucerne the road crosses the Alps into Ticino, where the landscape changes to sunny valleys, cypress trees and terracotta roofs.
The first stop is Bellinzona and its medieval castles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Then the Tibetan Bridge, high above a green gorge, and Lugano, with its lakeside promenade and the Piazza della Riforma. The day ends in Morcote, a village of narrow lanes on the shore of the lake.
