What is the Signature Switzerland journey?
A multi-day private circuit composed around one family, with Zurich as the base and the Alps as the range. One contact designs it, books it, and stays reachable throughout. It is built fresh each time through Private Travel Design, never assembled from a template.
Do we need a car in Zermatt?
No, and you could not bring one anyway. Zermatt is car-free; arrivals run by rail or by transfer to Täsch and the short train from there. We plan the handoff so luggage and timing are settled before anyone thinks about them. In winter, the arrival plan matters more than the hotel choice.
When is the best season for a Swiss alpine journey?
Deep winter and high summer are two different countries. December through March is for altitude, snow, and the social calendar of the Engadine. Late June to September opens the passes and the high trails. The shoulder weeks in between reward clients who value quiet over spectacle.
Can city and mountain be combined in one week?
Comfortably. A circuit of Zurich, Lucerne, and the Engadine runs well by private car or first-class rail, and a helicopter transfer closes the distance when the schedule demands it. The mistake is trying to see everything; the pleasure is moving without friction.
