In winter Europa-Park, Germany's largest theme park, turns into a winter season of fairy lights and roller coasters. There are more than 3,000 decorated Christmas trees, ice sculptures, Christmas markets and seasonal shows, with roasted almonds and mulled wine in the air.
The park is laid out in themed areas for different European countries, each dressed for the holidays in its own way. The car takes you there from your hotel and brings you back, and the day in between is yours.
