How many days does Marrakech deserve, and what sits around it?
Three nights in Marrakech, then two or three in the Atlas Mountains or the desert. The medina, private garden visits, and dinner in a private riad fill the city days. Kasbah lodges in the Atlas are ninety minutes away and change the trip entirely.
Can we reach the Sahara without losing two days to driving?
Yes, by light aircraft or helicopter transfer toward the Agafay or the dunes near Merzouga. A private desert camp with proper beds and staff is then a single night well spent. The road option exists but we rarely recommend it on shorter trips.
When is the right season for Morocco?
October through April, with March, April, and October the most comfortable months in Marrakech. July and August heat in the city is serious. Winter desert nights are cold and the camps we use are equipped for it.
Is Fes worth adding for a first visit?
Yes, if the trip runs eight days or more, since Fes holds the country’s most intact medina. We arrange it with a private guide who has spent his life inside it. Under a week, we keep the focus on Marrakech and the Atlas.
